Situations where double sealing is recommended for vacuum seal bag:
Liquid and soup products:
Once the seal is not tight or there are small holes, it is easy to leak and contaminate other packaging or equipment. Double sealing can improve the sealing safety.
High-value items or long-term storage:
Such as coffee beans, cured meats, dried fruits, frozen meats, etc., double sealing is more resistant to freezing, handling and the test of time.
Vacuum packing bags is relatively thick or has creases/impurities:
Wrinkles on the bag mouth may cause the seal to be loose, and the second seal can compensate for the imperfect first seal.
For transportation rather than just home use:
Greater friction, pressure, and extrusion risks, double sealing is more secure.
Situations where vacuum sealable bags do not necessarily need double sealing:
Home use, short-term refrigeration:
For example, refrigerated meat and leftovers that are eaten within 3 days. One seal is enough.
High-quality sealer + flat seal:
If the commercial vacuum sealer seals cleanly without wrinkles, one seal is enough.
The bag itself is a multi-layer high barrier material:
Generally, it has strong air tightness and sealing strength.
How to double seal?
Seal the first opening, slightly inside the bag opening (about 1cm).
Seal the second opening, slightly outside (about 0.5-1cm) and seal again.
Summary suggestions:
Should the vacuum pack bags be sealed twice? It is recommended that you double seal in the following situations.
Liquid oil content of the contents ≥15%
Storage temperature ≤-18℃
Transport vibration intensity>3Grms
Storage period ≥90 days
